If ya know what I mean?
Here is a list of restaurants and cafés we visited when we went to London - you might feel inspired ;)
We are not really the type of people who search for a wild culinary experience, but we would like to avoid places like McDonald's or Burger King cause that would just ruin the authenticity of the whole "going-abroad-experience" ;) If ya know what I mean? But again, we don't look for small, weird gluten-free cafés - we just want a good burger (read: Mette) or pizza (read: Anine) xD
I. The Vintage Emporium
"You should go here if you're on Brick Lane and need to rest your feet and have a cup of coffee"
14 Bacon street
Brick lane
London E1 6LF
Brick lane

We lived right next to Brick Lane which is a great "arty" area with small shops and cafés. The first day we ended up at a small café which was decked out in the Victorian style :) It was quite authentic and nice. The music reminded us of the dancing scene in Titanic and the people who worked there were dressed very vintage ;) The downside though was people sitting there with their laptops... Yeah, that's what you do nowadays, but in such a cosy setting with an old school vibe it just ruins the atmosphere. We were also a bit disappointed with the frappés we had - they just tasted like Nesquick. But all in all a nice little place.
Btw there's also a boutique downstairs with vintage clothing and accessories (we didn't notice that - I just found out now xD)
II. Soho Joe
"You should go here if you're shopping on Oxford Street and need to get away from people and have a nice, hot meal"
22-25 Dean St
London W1D 3RY
Of course we went to Oxford Street to spend some £! ;) But at some point you get fed up with traffic, tourists and queues, and then it's time to fuel up! We had an idea that we wanted pizza so we went down the side streets and quickly found Soho Joe, and we're glad we did! The service was good and quick and the pizzas were absolutely amazing! Mette loves burgers (it's a great love story xb) so she ordered the Soho Joe version and it was awesome as well :b
III. Beigel Bake
"You should go here if you need a quick snack and if you love bagels"
159 Brick Ln
London E1 6SB
When I went to NYC I fell in love with bagels, but I haven't had a decent one since then. I read about this place from home and people praised it calling their bagels the best in the world! After the concert we desperately needed food and since Beigel Bake is open 24/7 (great idea) we went in here! If you're looking for great service and a smile you shouldn't go in here - they basically throw the bread at you, and you almost don't have time to decide what you want xD But it didn't matter because the bagels didn't disappoint! I wouldn't call them the best in the world, but they were good :) Mmm I just looove bagels with creme cheese :b
IV. Jamie's Italian
"You should go here if you like Jamie Oliver's laid back nature and Italian food"
11 Upper St Martin's Ln
London WC2H 9FB
We also went to Jamie's Italian where Carina and I have had dinner several times before ;)
I've written a review here.
Carina and I had "the usual" which I've described in the review, and Mette had (drum roll please)... a burger! ;D She said it was one of the best she's ever had - and she knows what she's talking about :b We all had the divine tiramisu and that one is ALWAYS great! :)
