Okay... healthy food, diets and fitness have been popular topics for many years. Social media have become a platform for people to exercise these "trends"... I guess we all have Facebook friends who write about how many miles they've run today or post pictures of their super healthy dinner... Talk about bad conscienceness... ;)
Lately I think it's all moved to a new dimension and has become even more intense. It's like a new wave of "health talk"...
I follow around 6 blogs daily. They are all fashion blogs but within a few months all these bloggers have become very fitness oriented. They talk about their work-outs, their healthy food and they post pictures of pro fitness people. They talk about fitness blogs and some have started a new lifestyle focusing on fitness and healthy food.
I think it's too much! I agree that it's important to eat healthy and work out, but it can become too extreme. Some of these people post pictures of women who are WAY too skinny... That's not healthy looking to me. I think bloggers need to be very aware that people are listening to them, and some followers might be very young with low self esteem (girls in particular) who might get inspired by these "skinny pictures". We've all heard about the consequences of this...
As I wrote these blogs are fashion blogs, and it just tells me that size 0 is still the ideal in the fashion world... That's just wrong and very unhealthy! I think it's great that these bloggers take care of themselves, but come on - you don't eat almonds and broccoli all day long. I wish they would promote healthy foods like: "yeah I eat healthy but I just loooove a greasy cake with whipped cream now and then"... And I wish they would post pictures of REAL women with curves... You can still be heatlhy and have the shape of a woman (NO - you're thighs are not supposed to be 20 cm from each other).
So - eat healthy, exercise but enjoy life now and then...
... and listen: women are meant to have curves!
I don't see anything wrong with this woman ;)
